Crossroad Institute’s “Bluegrass Gravy & River Quilts” series continues on April 12 with Ellie Kirby and friends presenting “The Legend of Caty Sage,” followed by regional folk ballads and stories by Elizabeth LaPrelle and Anna Roberts-Gevalt.
On April 19, Connie Morris will illustrate Appalachian expressions and their origins. Phyllis Stump will portray Aunt Orlean Puckett, a midwife who delivered more than a thousand babies in eastern Carroll County in the early 1900s.
All programs begin at 6:30, and there is no admission charge. Crossroads is at 1117 E. Stuart Drive, Galax.
