Auction benefits local agencies

Twin County United Way raised more than $5,000 to assist local agencies through its second annual Groundhog Day auction Feb. 3.
More than 100 people attended the auction, free hot dog dinner and live music by Marshall Brothers and Highroad.
Chris Ward of Dawn Auction Co. volunteered his expertise to auction items, and other items were offered through silent auctions.
More than 140 items were sold, including property at Cascade Highlands Resort and hot air balloon rides.
“We are so fortunate to have community support for our efforts and extend our thanks to everyone who helped with the auction,” said Mike Frazier, auction chairman and immediate past president of TCUW.
“Our board and staff worked diligently to put this together. We had a great event. Dinner and great music are always a crowd-pleaser, and Chris makes our auction fun for everyone.”
