Busy day for state troopers

A Virginia state trooper travels Glendale Road in Galax last Saturday while on duty during a heavy snowstorm. State troopers were kept busy for several hours investigating 130 accidents across Southwest Virginia, including Grayson and Carroll counties, caused by the four-inch snowfall. State police said 30 of the accidents resulted in injuries and one fatality. A Wytheville woman, Marsha Walters, 50, was killed in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 21 in Wythe County Saturday.
