Big breakfast set

FRIES — A big country breakfast will be served the morning of June 30 at Fries United Methodist Church from 7 a.m.
Pay by donation. Proceeds will be used for the roof fund. Parking for the handicapped at rear of church.

Church hosts bake sale, car wash

A hot dog/bake sale and car wash will be held Saturday, June 30 beginning at 11 a.m. at the West Galax United Methodist Church.

Gospel music event seeks participants

Southwestern Virginia Training Center will host the Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration, “The Homecoming,” on July 22.
The public event is 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the center’s gymnasium, 160 Training Center Road, Hillsville.
It provides an opportunity for the center to welcome the community to showcase its talents. The inspirational celebration will feature The Word Gospel Drill Team (Newport News), Whirlwind of Fire (Hampton), Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church (Galax), Gladeville United Methodist Church (Woodlawn), and special invited guests include Bob Goldstein and Family (Blacksburg), Russell Payne and the Coulson Bunch (Hillsville), Church of God of Prophecy (Fries), Trinity Believers and Young Believers (Fries), Robert Alderman Family Ministries (Hillsville), Sandy David Ministry (Galax), Garfield Austin (Hillsville), New Ridge Blue Grass (Hillsville), Robert Alderman Family Ministries (Hillsville), Keisha Russell (Statesville, N.C.).
All praise dancers, mime groups, gospel drill teams, choirs, civic groups and churches are invited to attend and participate.
