A lot of Fries folks have been concerned in recent years about the July 4th celebration. It seems to get smaller every year.
But there is good news on the horizon.
David Sexton, who is not only chairman of the Grayson County Board of Supervisors but also is in charge of the Fries Recreation Center, told Fries Town Council recently that a celebration would be held this year.
The celebration is in the early stages of planning but they talked about a variety of events, including a music show, and a parade on the big day.
And for the question Sexton was waiting to answer, YES there will be fireworks.
We’ll release more information when it becomes available.
