GALAX — Two suspects were recently charged with felonies in unrelated incidents in Galax.
According to a police report by Galax Officer T.B. Jefferson, William Menary Penn, 60, of Reidsville, N.C., was charged with felony bestiality (inappropriate contact with a dog) and trespassing after being forbidden to do so (a misdemeanor) on Nov. 26.
Penn was taken to the New River Valley Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
On Nov. 27, Dearl Wayne Corwin Jr., 33, of Galax, was charged with felony shoplifting for a third offense of concealing goods valued at less than $200. He is free on bond.
