Grayson golfers compete in regional

The results of the Region C golf tournament played last Monday at The Homestead in Hot Springs look the same as the Mountain Empire District tournament.
Galax won both titles while Graham finished second in both tournaments. Graham and Parry McCluer tied for second in the Region C event and Graham won in a playoff.
Both teams are playing in the Group A state tournament at Heritage Oaks Golf Course.
 The Tide finished with a score of 322 while Graham and Parry McCluer both had a 338.
Galax cores: John Bryant 76, Eddie Hanks 80, Matt Downey 81, Jon Alouf  83, Travis Cockerham 89, Ben Hill 91.
Four Grayson County Blue Devils played in the tournament after qualifying for individual play at the MED tourney.
Tucker Phipps had the low round of the group with an 87 at the par 72 Lower Cascades course. Jacob Vaughan shot an 89, Cole Davis 99 and Gavin Bailey 100. They did not qualify for the state tournament.
