Highland Camerata presents winter concerts

The Highland Camerata chorus will present three winter concerts in early December in Galax, Independence, and Sparta, N.C.
The schedule is: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Sparta Presbyterian Church, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Brush Creek Hall near Independence, and 3 p.m. Dec. 11 at Galax Presbyterian Church.
The major work will be Johann Pachelbel’s “Magnificat,” which is based on the Biblical pronouncement from St. Luke, chapter one.
“Ava Maria” and “O Nata Lux” by Morton Lauridsen will be sung in Latin to compliment the Magnificat.
