Howard enlists in U.S. Navy

Andrew M. Howard, a 2004 graduate of Galax High School, recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy through its delayed entry program at Navy recruiting district, Raleigh, N. C.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as education.
Howard will report for active duty and undergo basic training at the recruit training center in Great Lakes, Ill.
