GALAX -- Ila Faye Rutherford Higgins, 87, of Galax, died Jan. 23, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Galax.
She was born April 26, 1924 in Grayson County to the late Eather and Ella Galyean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rutherford.
