Lane is newSparta police chief

SPARTA, N.C. – Robert “Bob” Lane has been hired as the new police chief in Sparta replacing Frank Sanders who recently retired.
Lane was a N.C. highway patrolman assigned to Alleghany County for 25 years before he retired in May 2010.
