INDEPENDENCE — Grayson County now has a handy eye in the sky available, thanks to a recent certification allowing the county to operate an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for GIS mapping and other (potentially life-saving) uses.
Carl Caudill, IT and GIS Coordinator for Grayson County, purchased a UAV last year with leftover funds from the county budget. The county now has a Certificate of Authorization to operate the machine on behalf of first responders, forestry services, and other organizations that can benefit from its use.
