MADD honors local officers

Several area law enforcement officers were honored Sept. 27 for their work to stop drunk driving and underage drinking.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) presented awards during ceremonies held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon.
Forty-one officers from Abingdon, Bristol, Galax, Norton, Washington, Scott, Lee, Wise, Dickenson, Buchanan, Grayson, Carroll, Tazewell, Russell, Smyth, Wythe and Bland counties were recognized.
Local officers honored were:
• Cpl. Adam Horton, Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.
