Ponytails win Dixie state title; advance to World Series in La.
Members of the Grayson County Dixie Ponytails softball team are packing their suitcases for a 15-hour trip to Louisiana to represent Virginia in the Dixie Youth World Series.
The team will participate in opening ceremonies Friday and play the opening game against Alabama on Saturday.
But before they leave, they are busy trying to raise the estimated $10,000 to help pay for the trip.
The team won the Dixie Ponytails state championship last Tuesday after beating five teams to claim the title.
