GALAX — Old Town Pottery Cooperative and Chestnut Creek School of the Arts will offer a raku pottery showcase at the Chestnut Creek building on Nov. 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Raku is a firing process that involves removing ceramic pieces from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot. Ceramic pieces fired this way are characterized by a metallic glow and can have a distinct white crackle appearance. Outdoor firings are held behind the Old Town Pottery Cooperative.
