Sports Briefs for March 7, 2012

• Movie night

A Dolphin Tale will be the featured movie during movie night at the Galax Recreation Center on March 9 from 7-9 p.m.
Children are urged to bring their favorite float and watch the movie in the pool. Children under the age of 11 must have an adult with them at all times and children under the age of 5 must have an adult in the pool with them at all times.
The cost is $3 per person.

Galax Parks and Recreation
8, 9 & 10  Dixie Minor Baseball
Open to all boys ages 8, 9 and 10.  Players must reach age 8 before May 1.  Players cannot reach age 11 before May 1.
All players must live in the City of Galax or attend Galax city schools.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 16.

11 & 12  Dixie Major Baseball
Open to all boys ages 11 and 12.  Players must reach age 11 before May 1.  Players cannot reach age 13 before May 1.
All Players must live in the City of Galax or attend Galax city schools.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 16.
 
13 & 14  Dixie Boys Baseball
Open to all boys ages 13 and 14.  Players must reach age 13 before May 1.  Players cannot reach age 15 before May 1.
All Players must live in the City of Galax or attend Galax city schools.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 31.
 
15 – 18  Dixie Majors Baseball
Open to all boys ages 15 – 18.  Players must reach age 15 before May 1.  Players cannot reach age 19 before May 1.
All Players must live in the City of Galax or attend Galax city schools.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 31.
 
10 & Under Southwest Virginia Girls Softball
Open to all girls ages 8, 9 and 10.  Players must reach age 8 before June 1.  Players cannot reach age 11 before June 1.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 16.

13 & Under Southwest Virginia Girls Softball
Open to all girls ages 11, 12 and 13.  Players must reach age 11 before June 1.  Players cannot reach age 14 before June 1.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 16.

17 & Under Southwest Virginia Girls Softball
Open to all girls ages 14, 15, 16 and 17.  Players must reach age 14 before June 1.  Players cannot reach age 18 before June 1.
Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of $30 before March 16.
