Tomato growers are noticing disease on their plants, but the Grayson County Extension Office has some information and tips that can help local gardeners save their tomatoes.
“Thus far, I have not seen late blight in Grayson County, but a few cases have been reported in eastern Virginia,” said Extension Agent Kevin Spurlin.
Late blight prefers cooler, wet weather. The hotter weather the area's been experiencing favors other diseases such as Septoria leaf spot and early blight, which are not as devastating as late blight, but are still a concern.
