Tide wins MED golf championship; Blue Devils finish in third place

The Galax Maroon Tide made it 11 straight Mountain Empire District golf championships last Tuesday at Draper Valley Golf Club.
Galax finished with a score of 302 to beat district newcomer Graham that finished second with a 312. Third place went to Grayson County, 353, and fourth to Fort Chiswell, 375.
Blue Devil coach James Davis was pleased with his team’s efforts. They sent four golfers to the Region C Tournament that was held Monday and Tuesday at the Lower Cascades course at The Homestead in Hot Springs. Both Galax and Graham teams also advanced.
