A benefit for Ronnie Dolinger will be held 5-7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Rugby Rescue Squad building.

SPARTA, N.C. – A benefit auction and lunch will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Alleghany High School cafeteria.
The fund raiser will be held in conjunction with the Alleghany High School AAU Wrestling Tournament at the school.
Lunch serving begins at 11:30 a.m. and the auction begins at 1 p.m.
Area merchants have donated items to be sold at the auction. Items are still being accepted and anyone who wants to make a donation can contact United Country Foxfire Realty or Younger Auction Co.
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Independence VFW Post 7726 from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 20.

SPARTA, N.C. – A benefit basketball tournament will be held Jan. 7-8 at Alleghany High School to benefit the Luke Hampton family.
Team trophies will be presented for first, second and third places.
The format will be released later but there is a two-game guarantee with a maximum 10 man roster. Players must be 18 or older.

I would like to thank everyone who participates in the ecumenical weekly meal “Lamb’s Table”.I would also like to expound on them. “Lamb’s Table” is more than one year old and has served more than 5,000 meals since its inception.
We offer a meal every Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. and everyone is invited to share a meal with us.

Any canned item donation will result in $1 off fines due at the Galax or Carroll County libraries.
Food donations should be made at the Galax library only.
The food will be donated to Willing Partners food bank on Dec. 23.
