  • Service honors Revolutionary War soldiers

A dedication service to honor two Revolutionary War soldiers was held in Elk Creek on May 15 at the homeplace of Jo Ann Leifeste’s cousin, Randall, and Hilda Sutherland.

James Cornett’s stone lies broken beside his new one, and because the location is unknown of stones for David and his wife Adaline, their names appear with the notation, “cemetery unknown.”
