    Liberty Hill hosts Bible School

    Liberty Hill Baptist Church invites all ages to participate in its Vacation Bible School which continues 6:30 to 8:30 nightly through June 15.
    Theme is IncrediWorld Amazement Park, where preschoolers through adults will learn about God as Creator and Jesus as Savior.
    IncrediWorld Amazement Park activities include Bible stories, crafts, games and snacks.
    Liberty Hill Baptist Church is located in the Grant community at 7614 Troutdale Highway about 2.5 miles east of Troutdale on Route 16.

  • Glenwood Church hosts annual festival

    Glenwood Methodist Church will host its Annual Mother’s Day Yard Sale and Breakfast 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 12.
    The highlight of the breakfast is the church’s “famous” homemade sausage gravy and biscuits, hashbrown casserole, fruit, blueberry muffins, juice and coffee.
    The yard sale features name brand clothing and shoes for the entire family, toys, games, CDs, DVDs, china, linens, jewelry and jewelry-making kits, tools, plants, antiques, lamps, kitchen items and much more.

  • Liberty Hill plans revival services May 13-16

    TROUTDALE — Liberty Hill Baptist Church will host revival services May 13-16.
    Service begins 11 a.m. , Sunday, May 13 and continues Monday through Wednesday at 7 nightly.
    Brother Mike Owens will deliver the messages. The Liberty Hill Bluegrass Gospel Band and Philip and Elizabeth Vaughan will provide special music.
    Pastor Tim Boyette and congregation welcome all to attend.

  • Gospel singing to benefit Centerview Church in Fries

    Centerview Church in Fries will host a Benefit Gospel Singing on April 14 starting at 3 p.m. at the New River Wildlife Club. 
    Multiple groups will perform, food will be available, and a silent auction will be held from 4-6 p.m.  Proceeds go toward building a fellowship hall.

    Cliffview Church of God will have a “blessing of the bikes and riders” at 10:30 a.m. April 22.
    Riders will meet at Cliffview at 10 a.m. After service there will be a ride down Virginia 89 to Mount Airy and back up U.S. 52 to Squealers Barbecue in Galax where a section is reserved for lunch.

    An “on target for Christ” shooting event for ages 8-16 will be held May 12 at the Galax city firing range on Glendale Road.
    Cost is $10 and includes t-shirt and lunch.
