INDEPENDENCE — Seventh graders at Independence Middle School were commended at a ceremony last Friday afternoon, for successfully completing the Botvin Life Skills Program.
The Botvin LifeSkills program is a pilot program funded by a grant through Virginia Tech. The program offers practical lessons in making positive life decisions.
Erin Cox, 4-H Agent, said that the grant program was received by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, from Virginia Tech. Cox partnered with Coach Charles Campbell, who provided instruction for the program.
