Local drivers claim top spots

ELK CREEK – Grayson County drivers won three of the five classes at Elk Creek Dragway in June 8 racing.

Bobby Hash of Independence won first place in the Super Pro class driving his 1992 Chevy Camaro to a speed of 116.72 mph. Runner-up was Tracy Brannock of Galax, with a speed of 95.13 mph in his 1968 Chevy Impala.

Brandon White of Hillsville won the Footbrake class with a speed of 91.01 mph in a 1974 Chevy Camaro. Chris Plott of Winston-Salem, N.C., was runner-up in a 1970 Mercury Cougar with a speed of 110.79 mph.
