Jerry Perry debuted on the business scene in Independence in 2008 when he purchased the Dutch-Mundy Chevrolet building on Main Street and opened Main Street Tire & Auto.
He has been pleased with the support from the community and recently added two new businesses – Main Street Auto Spa #1 and #2.
“I had the opportunity to buy the car washes and felt it would be a good investment,” Perry said.
The car washes are located on U.S. 21 north and Main Street beside Aunt Bea’s.
Perry bought the car washes about six weeks ago from Brian Dixon.
“I’ve been busy remodeling the car washes and installing new equipment,” Perry said. “We had a problem with soap at one of the car washes but we got that fixed.”
The car washes offer everything to detail your car. They have vacuums to clean the inside of your car and you can use soap and wax inside the cleaning bays.
Both car washes are coin operated.
Perry said the Main Street location is equipped with an automatic car wash and he has lowered each of the four washes available by $1 each.
And another thing Perry pointed out was the car washes are always open – 24-7.
“If you want to wash your vehicle at 3 a.m., it will be open and probably no waiting,” Perry said with a grin.
