New trial date set for car chase suspect

Charges in connection with chase in Galax, which resulted in another driver crashing through a house

INDEPENDENCE — Travis Dale Coulson, indicted on multiple charges in a car chase in Galax that occurred earlier this year — which allegedly caused another driver to crash through a house — has been rescheduled for a jury trial in Grayson County.
Coulson, 38, of Galax, was scheduled to appear in Grayson County Circuit Court last Friday; but the date was continued that morning, according to the circuit court database.
The new trial date is June 8, beginning at 9 a.m. The trial is scheduled to last one day.
