O’Quinn wins GOP nomination

In the Republican primary on June 11, Israel O’Quinn won the party’s nomination to seek a fifth two-year term as the 5th District representative in the Virginia House of Delegates.
O’Quinn won 77.2% of the votes, defeating challenger Michael “Oz” Osborne, who received 22.7%. In total votes, the incumbent received 2,450 and Osborne received 721.
The 5th District includes Galax and Grayson County, as well as the city of Bristol and Washington and Smyth counties. Election results showed that O’Quinn won all 43 precincts in the district.
