Ponytail girls headed to World Series

-A A +A

Donations and support are needed to send a Grayson County softball team to the Dixie World Series in Louisiana

By The Staff

After winning a state title, the 11-12 year old Dixie girls softball team is headed to the Dixie World Series in Pineville, La., on Friday, July 29, — and supporters are encouraging everyone to support them through donations.
"They've fought hard to make it through the district and state tournament, so we should fight hard to get them there," said a supporter on the event's Facebook page, created by Grayson County Recreation Park.
"As everyone knows, gas prices are high and our economy is struggling, and it is going to be expensive to get those girls there and back. We believe that we should come together as a community to help make this experience as cost efficient for parents as possible. For the next two weeks we will be working hard here at our [Grayson County Recreation] park office asking for donations and doing as much as we can to help our girls."
If anyone would like to make a personal donation or would like to help in any way, contact organizers through Facebook or at the park  office, (276) 773-3841.
