Survey for broadband live in Grayson

-A A +A

The Grayson County administrator’s office has released a survey for citizens to determine the need for high-speed internet availability in the county.

Carl Caudill, technology director for the county, released a link to the survey Tuesday afternoon. He stated that the survey will be made available both online and on paper. Paper copies will be available at the local libraries and the Galax Gazette and Declaration office.

The survey is short and only includes five questions. Caudill requested that everyone in Grayson County fill it out to help them with future plans for broadband internet access.

“We need to know what the need is in our area so we can concentrate on our efforts to reach everyone in the county,” said Caudill. “This survey will also help us to develop a road map of where to begin in relation with where the lines will be run.”

The county recently announced that it will partner with GigaBeam and Appalachian Power companies, to run high speed internet wiring all over the county.
