ELK CREEK — An Elk Creek man faces two charges in connection with the distribution of illegal drugs and noncompliance with officers, after attempting to flee from the scene of an investigation.
According to a news release from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, William Eugene Armstrong Jr., 38, of Elk Creek, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and obstruction of justice on July 23.
The police report further detailed that on July 23, Investigator Brad Brown and members of the Twin County Drug Task Force were conducting surveillance at an apartment complex on Elk Creek Parkway, when they observed Armstrong walking near the apartments.
“When investigators confronted the male subject, he became irate and was uncooperative,” the report reads. “ The subject attempted to flee on foot; and investigators tackled the subject and placed him under arrest for obstruction of justice.”
A search of the subject and his residence revealed 12 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and packaging material, said the report.
Armstrong is currently being held in New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
