  • Vaughan-Bassett announces expansion, jobs

GALAX – Vaughan-Bassett Furniture officials announced last week plans to spend $1 million over the next several months on a four-phase expansion of its Galax factory.

Wyatt Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett’s president and CEO, said the most expensive phase of the expansion is a new 16,000 square-foot building that is under construction at the rear of the shipping facility on Oldtown Street.

    The other three phases include:

    • Relocating the two bed lines from the machine room to the pack room, which was completed last month.
