  • Court unseals indictments

    Three indictments that were sealed by a Grayson County Circuit Court grand jury on July 23 have been unsealed.
    Stanley D. Brewer, 46, of Fries, was indicted on five charges.
    They include: conspiracy to sell, give or distribute a schedule III controlled substance (HYDRODONE); sale, give or distribution of a schedule III controlled substance (HYDRODONE); two counts for the sale, gift or distribution of marijuana; conspiracy to sell, give or distribute marijuana.

  • Former deputy indicted

    A former Grayson County deputy sheriff was indicted on 14 sex-related charges last Friday by a Grayson County Circuit Court grand jury.

  • Couple gets three years in prison for identity theft

    ROANOKE – An Elk Creek couple, who admitted to stealing the identity of an elderly man for whom they provided in-home care for the purpose of using the information to commit bank fraud, were sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Roanoke Monday.
    Robbie Kevin Poole, 50, and his wife, Kathryn Rebecca Poole, 58, each pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.
