• WEEK OF OCT. 29, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) This is a good time to speak out on a difficult situation. You’re known for your honesty, so people will listen and, perhaps, begin to make long-needed changes.

  • WEEK OF OCT. 22, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) You’re eager to Ram headfirst into that new project. But before you do, find out why some of your colleagues might not appear to be as gung-ho about it as you are.

  • WEEK OF OCT. 15, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) You might feel compelled to get involved on the “right side” of a seemingly unfair fight. But appearances can be deceptive. Get the facts before going forth into the fray.

  • WEEK OF OCT. 8, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Although you love being the focus of attention, it’s a good idea to take a few steps back right now to just watch the action. What you see can help with an upcoming decision.

  • WEEK OF Oct. 1, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Someone has some suggestions to offer regarding your new project. You might find them helpful. Remember to avoid speculation and to stick with just the facts, Lamb.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) An old friend suddenly reappears. Whether this proves to be a boon or a bane in the Bovine’s life depends on the reason for this surprising reappearance. Be cautious.

  • WEEK OF SEPT. 24, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) This is a good time for the usually outspoken Lamb to be a bit more discreet. You still can get your point across, but do it in a way less likely to turn off a potential supporter.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Good news: All that hard work you put in is beginning to pay off. But you need to watch that tendency to insist on doing things your way or no way. Be a bit more flexible.

  • WEEK OF SEPT. 17, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Your ideas earn you the respect of your colleagues. But you’ll have to present some hard facts and figures if you hope to persuade those who make the big decisions to support you.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Keep those bright Bull’s eyes focused on the project at hand. Avoid distractions. There’ll be lots of time for fun and games later. Expect to get welcome news this weekend.

  • WEEK OF SEPT. 10, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) A change that you’d hoped for is down the line. But you still need to be patient until more explanations are forthcoming. Continue to keep your enthusiasm in check.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Your social life expands as new friends come into your life. But while you’re having fun, your practical side also sees some positive business potential within your new circle.

  • Fancy Gap native Lones Combs has been a racing fan all his life, but he’s had much more firsthand experience with the sport than many others could boast.

  • WEEK OF AUG. 27, 2012

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Some light begins to shine on professional and/or personal situations that have long eluded explanation. Best advice: Don’t rush things. All will be made clear in time.

  • WEEK OF AUG. 20, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) As eager as you are to take on that new challenge, it would be best to temper that spurt of “Ram”-bunctious energy until you have more facts to back up your decision to move.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) This is a good time for hardworking Bovines to take a break from their hectic on-the-job schedules to bask in the unconditional love and support of friends and family.

After the successful “Farm Fresh Kids” day last week, the market seemed quiet this week. Market organizers hope to sponsor more programs next year for both kids and adults. I do believe the adults enjoyed “Farm Fresh Kids” as much as the young. It was delightful to watch the kids interact with the animals and participate in the good old-fashioned fun like sack races, ring toss and horse shoes.

  • WEEK OF AUG. 6, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) A strong social whirl brings a new round of good times to fun-loving Rams and Ewes. Cupid also is busy aiming arrows at single Lambs hoping for a heart-to-heart encounter.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) A romantic incident could take a more serious turn if the Divine Bovine considers meeting Cupid’s challenge. Meanwhile, a professional opportunity is also about to turn up.

  • WEEK OF JULY 30, 2012

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) A turn in a relationship upsets the amorous Arian, who is puzzled by Cupid’s romantic antics. Be patient and considerate. The confusion soon will sort itself out.

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) It’s a good time for travel-loving Taureans to take off for fun-filled jaunts to new places. And don’t be surprised if Cupid tags along for what could be a very eventful trip.

  • ARIES (March 21 to April 19) You’re wise to let your Arian skepticism question a former adversary’s request to let bygones be bygones. Time will tell if he or she is trying to pull the wool over the Lamb’s eyes.
TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Congratulations. Your hard work soon pays off with some well-deserved recognition. Meanwhile, that important personal relationship needs more attention from you.

  • Dave Hamm of Independence is proud of the replica of the 1908 Courthouse that he constructed as a birdhouse but admits that it took a lot of work to complete.
Hamm, who resides on Powerhouse Road and has a workshop behind his house, said he began work on the birdhouse last October and he finished it in May.
A big problem with the project, according to Hamm, was he didn’t have a blueprint to go by.

  • ARIES (March 21 to April 19) You clever Ewes and Rams love nothing more than to rise to a challenge. So, by all means, if you feel sure about your facts, step right up and defend your side of the issue.
TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) You’ve done some great work recently. Now it’s time to reward yourself with something wonderful, perhaps a day at a spa or a night out with someone very special.
