INDEPENDENCE -- Two men have been arrested after they allegedly took an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that was being used as bait by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Richard Vaughan said after several ATVs were stolen in the western end of Grayson County in the spring, his officers came up with a plan to catch the thieves. However, the suspects in those cases were arrested and are still in custody.
Vaughan said the department borrowed a “bait” ATV from the Virginia State Police Help Eliminate Auto Theft (H.E.A.T.) program.
