ENNICE, N.C. – Funeral services were held Sunday for a 54-year-old Sparta, N.C., man who was killed in a head-on crash last Thursday.
Trooper E.W. McConnell of the N.C. Highway Patrol said Lonnie Wayne Parsons of Quincy Road in Sparta, was traveling south on N.C. 18 at 3:48 p.m. in Ennice when his 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage was struck by a northbound 2003 Dodge Neon driven by George Franklin Flanary, 20, of Galax. It was raining heavy at the time of the accident.
McConnell said Flanary’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the Parsons vehicle.
